Why I Don’t Bill Insurance (And How That Benefits You)

If you're used to seeing medical providers who bill your insurance, you might wonder why I’ve chosen a different approach in my chiropractic practice. At Happy Family Chiropractic, I don’t participate in insurance networks or bill insurance directly. Instead, I offer a simple and transparent option: I’ll provide you with a “superbill,” which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Here’s why I’ve chosen this path—and how it benefits you and your family.

1. I Believe in Putting Your Health First

Insurance companies often try to act like they know what’s best for your care. They decide what they will or won’t cover based on their own guidelines, not your individual needs.

Imagine I recommend a series of gentle adjustments to help your baby latch better while breastfeeding, or to help calm your toddler’s nervous system. An insurance company might deny that care, claiming it’s unnecessary—even though you and I know it’s making a huge difference.

By not billing insurance, I can make decisions based on what you or your child actually need, without worrying about whether an insurance company will approve it. This lets me provide the best care possible.

2. Keeping Costs Affordable for You

Billing insurance comes with a lot of extra costs:

  • I’d need to hire staff or spend hours on paperwork.
  • I’d have to negotiate with insurance companies to get paid.
  • I’d need to spend time fighting denied claims.

All of that adds up, and the reality is that I’d have to raise my prices significantly to cover it. By skipping the insurance middleman, I keep my overhead low, which means I can pass the savings on to you.

3. Fair and Transparent Pricing

Chiropractic care with me is actually affordable, especially when you consider my advanced training and specialty in caring for moms, babies, and families.

Here’s what you get with my pricing:

  • No hidden fees: You know upfront what you’re paying.
  • Value for your money: My care is designed to deliver lasting results that are worth every penny.

When you compare my fees to what you might pay for other health-related services (even with insurance), you’ll often find that my care is a better value—without the surprise bills.

4. How a Superbill Works

If you have insurance that covers chiropractic care, I make it easy for you to submit a claim on your own:

  1. After your visit, I’ll give you a detailed receipt, called a superbill.
  2. You submit this superbill to your insurance company.
  3. Depending on your policy, they may reimburse you for part or all of the cost.

It’s a simple process that puts the control in your hands.

5. Why I Made This Choice

My goal is to provide personalized, high-quality care for moms, babies, and families. I don’t want to spend my time fighting with insurance companies or letting them dictate the care I provide. Instead, I want to focus 100% on you—on helping you feel better, move better, and live your healthiest life.

By not billing insurance, I:

  • Have more time to focus on your care.
  • Keep my prices reasonable and fair.
  • Ensure that every treatment I recommend is truly in your best interest.

Your Health is Worth It

I know that navigating health care can feel overwhelming, especially as a busy mom. My goal is to make it as simple and stress-free as possible. I’m here to provide the highest level of care without the red tape.

If you have questions about superbills or need help understanding how to submit a claim, I’m happy to walk you through the process. Your family’s health is worth the investment, and I’m honored to be part of your journey.
